Don & Zoe Peffer

Brazil & Pennsylvania

The Peffers’ ministry is now in two parts in two places. They work in Brazil about seven months a year with a second-generation church plant overseen by Pastor Adalberto. Don does a fair portion of the preaching while they are there and also assists in the construction of their Sunday School and sanctuary buildings. Zoe works with the Sunday School teachers and with the ladies.

They work in Pennsylvania about five months a year (April – September) with Ready Yourselves Youth Ranch, which is an evangelical ministry to help youth going through difficult times. These young people are paired with a mentor and a horse for one 90-minute session a week. The goal is to help the youth learn life skills and introduce them to Jesus who is the only one who can give them victory.

Zoe works with the youth and mentors. Don is the “Maintenance Technician,” which involves repairing what breaks as well as making improvements to buildings and grounds (along with the routine work of mowing fields and spreading manure). They are also mentors to the volunteers, sharing Biblical teaching as the opportunities arise.

Mike and Kris Reed

Mike & Kris Reed

United States – Awana

Before Awana, Mike Reed worked at Nationwide Insurance and his wife, Kris, was a part-time attorney while staying home their four children. But all that changed in 2004 when God called Mike & Kris to be missionaries with Awana.

The Reeds have served as Awana missionaries in Kansas, Kentucky and now in central Ohio where Mike is also a Senior Field Director for the Awana’s U.S. ministries.

Through Mike and Kris, God is working to equip and encourage churches in their mission to reach and disciple children and youth through the Awana ministry.

Joel Rosenberg’s Joshua Fund

Israel

The Joshua Fund was founded by Joel and Lynn Rosenberg in the summer of 2006. The desire of their heart was to mobilize Christians to “bless Israel and her neighbors in the name of Jesus, according to Genesis 12:1–3.

The Rosenbergs established a non-profit educational and charitable organization that works closely with Jewish and Christian allies in Israel and the Middle East, as well as Christian allies around the world.

These are a few examples of the many ways your support will bless Jews and Arabs in the region.

Linden & Janice Viinalass

Tartu, Estonia

In 1997, Northwest sent out its first full-time missionary family. Linden—whose family had emigrated from Estonia—Janice and their five children moved to Estonia. They moved with a heart to share the love of Jesus with the people of Estonia, who had recently gained their freedom from the Soviet Union.

Now, more than 20 years later, the Viinalass Family is still faithfully serving in Estonia. While their focus in ministry is still the same, it has grown in many facets.

Janice is teaching 6-9th grade conversational English full-time at Tartu Private School. She also works with her ministry, A Light in the City, to promote abstinence and the value of life among teens and expectant mothers. Linden continues building his ministry, A Light in the Forest, a Christian camp and event center. They recently opened their home to five renters from different parts of the world who live with them while attending school in the area.

Together they are active in their church and all of their family are active in their faith!
