One pint of blood was all Meghan Archer needed when she had her first heart surgery, but Meghan was only 2.5 months old.

In 2007, at the age of four, Meghan again went under the knife. Prior to this surgery, doctors suggested any family member that was eligible should donate blood, and this time the whole family flocked to get pricked.

Meghan’s family has learned how significantly giving blood can impact a family.
