Thursday night we shared The Jesus Film in a village here in Malawi. We drove—after dark—down roads that were unmarked. If we didn’t have the Passion Center staff with us, we would have been lost in the country of Malawi. Instead of roadsigns, Malawians rely on landmarks like trees, buildings and mountains for direction.
The men in our group set up a generator, projector, and screen in the middle of a field near the village chief’s home. The community was predominately Muslim. About 250 men, women, and children showed up to watch the Chichewa-dubbed version of the film. At the end, Pastor Joseph and Stewart (two men from the Passion Center) gave an invitation and lives were surrendered to Christ. What an answer to prayer and what a huge step for the people who stood up and came forward to proclaim that they were surrendering to Christ. The heavens were rejoicing and so were we!
