Today has been an awesome day. Today was the day all the students came to camp. I'm sure you've already read about how much the Northwest team went through just getting here, which just makes it all the more awesome seeing the students arrive on time and as excited to be here as we are. Many of the campers speak English very well, but it's taken a little bit of time for many of them to warm up to us. Estonians are much more reserved and quiet than we're used to in the U.S. It's my first English Camp here in Estonia, and it's been really cool seeing God work even in the small amount of time we've had with the students so far. I've gotten to know my small group well just in the few hours we've had. I have 5 students in my small group that all seem to enjoy being in my group and the games that we've played have been very helpful in getting to know each other. We've had to tell embarrassing stories, do embarrassing activities, and step out of our comfort zones a lot today. It's helped us to delve into these students' lives pretty quickly. It's been awesome.
God is obviously at work and the Estonian students are thrilled to be here. They think it's awesome that we've spent our money and traveled to a land that's foreign to us, just to serve them. Cory DiCarro gave a great message in which he opened up the beginning of the story of the adulterous woman. The students seem interested to see where that story is going, and I'm sure God's going to use Cory and that Bible story to do great things in their hearts. Jordan Conti and I are the MCs for this year's camp, so we've been pumpin' everyone up and getting them excited to be here. That's been really cool too. At this point we know that God has something incredible planned because satan's thrown everything he possibly can at us to keep us from sharing this week of our lives with these students. We're just waiting to see how God uses us in their lives throughout the rest of this week. We're extremely excited to be here, and we're so thankful for all of your prayers; we've already seen some of the results! Keep it up and we'll see where God takes all of us.
