Cover the Week in Prayer
Every summer, VBS brings hundreds of kids through our doors—many from families who don’t normally step inside a church. We can plan the games, crack the codes, and pour ourselves into every detail, but we can’t change a single heart. Only God does that. So before Spy U begins, we want to stop and ask Him to do what we can’t.
The Thursday evening before VBS, we’re opening the building for a come-and-go prayer walk. Stop by whenever you can.
How It Works
Come anytime between 7 and 8:30pm. Enter through the main covered entrance, where someone will greet you and hand you a guide with prompts to lead you as you pray. From there, walk the building at your own pace—through the rooms where kids will gather, the stations they’ll rotate through, the spaces our volunteers will serve in all week long.
Pray for the kids who’ll come. Pray for the families behind them. Pray for the volunteers who show up early and stay late. And ask God to move in ways none of us could plan or produce.
Why It Matters
Last year, our kids discovered that Jesus is the Good Shepherd who never leaves them. We watched that truth come alive in young hearts all week—and it’s all because of God! This Thursday we’re laying the week down before Him and trusting Him to do what He does best, which is way more than we could ever hope to imagine (Ephesians 3:20).
We exist to help people meet and follow Jesus. It’s why we have VBS. So we pray.
