Bringing a little one into the world changes everything. You already know how much it matters to raise them well… and if you’re honest, you also know you don’t have all the answers. None of us do.
That’s the heart behind what we’re building this year. Baby Dedication has always been a moment where parents stand before their church family and commit to raising their child to know and follow Jesus. We still do that. But we don’t want it to be a single Sunday you show up for. We want to actually walk with you.
So this year starts with a class.
The Parent Dedication Class is a chance to be in the room together—to talk honestly about what it looks like to raise children with Jesus at the center, and to send you home with some practical tools for the road ahead. It’s not a test you have to pass. It’s us coming alongside you at the very beginning of one of the most important things you’ll ever do.
After the class, we’ll celebrate these families in a Baby Dedication service on August 30, where you’ll stand with your church family and we’ll commit to walking this road together.
A quick note on what dedication is… and isn’t. This isn’t about your child’s salvation; that’s a decision only they can make for themselves one day. This is about you: committing to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and might, and to pass that on to the little one He’s entrusted to you.
“Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.” — Psalm 127:3
If your child is three years or younger, we’d love for your family to be part of this. Start by joining us for the class.
The class meets during our second service, so after you drop your little one in their NW Kids classroom for first service, you can leave them right where they are and head to the Velocity Room (across the hall from the nursery counter) when second service starts.
